10th Annual Pow wow
2011-09-01

The Pow wow brought together members of the Indigenous and North End Communities to join in
dancing, visiting and building connections. This event brought awareness to Indigenous Culture, bringing
spirit and culture of the traditional way of life to the community. The staff of IWHC and the volunteers
came together, created a strong team and contributed to the success of this event. We would like to
thank all of the dancers and drum groups who came to support us this year!

Summer Program 2011
2011-08-31
The Summer Program was a huge success due to the fact that the families were able to participate in
events that they otherwise would not experience. The Summer Program provide the mothers with an
opportunity to gain self awareness, dignity, patience, values and most importantly, it reestablished the
significance of family unity. As a result, our mothers have gained self confidence needed to become
healthier individuals and more importantly, they bonded with their children! We hope next year will be
another successful summer!
